Adopted Social worker here. My parents are white and are still on their journey to being antiracist. None of what you wrote even occurred to them before I became an adult. I just wanted to commend you for that. It's a journey. Adoption is trauma and transracial adoption is a whole other trauma in itself. The best we can hope for is open hearts and willingness to do the work.
